Please tell me you are going back to your flowplayer embeded html process. Your new Kaltura iframe structure has stopped me from building www.act1nowplaying.com
Now, a simple embed of kaltura iframe code into my ms hosted aspx site wont even work properly, much less me trying to stream multiple files in a podcast. I am not a programmer and barely know how to copy paste html and now I need to figure out a way to continue my work with this iframe junk. have attached a html code sample that I was using and need to figure out if I can continue to stream multiple videos in same podcast fashion. hope someone can help me - thank you. ==============

======================================
have attached sample code I was using.

So can I do same with these iframe files? help
info at act1 now playing dot com

You can always use another player to show your videos. For example: jwplayer. See this player on this site: http://sites.google.com/site/rolandmarianne/Home/indonesie/Indonesie-video
See the playlist and the full-screen possibility.

I hope you plan to continue to support the flowplayer as well. Then I can continue using flowplayer html to embed my video podcast into my site at act1 now playing dot com..
I figured out I can click on All Files http , then rite mouse click on desired mp4 item to get exact file location.
Your Kaltura player does not provide that file info.
Then I just use that http file info in my html.
So will I be ok using flowplayer codes?
Thanks - Bill

also, what is going to happen to my 3 years of work on my sitehttp://act1nowplaying.com/DriveInsAllACT1Page02.aspx promoting archive.org site? Will I have to go back and rebuild everything I ever embeded from your site?
Then there are the music files and programs I have embeded.
Do I need to throw in the towel, cus I aint going to rebuild this much work. when you communicate back, please remember I am a novice at this sort of stuff. Going to this new Kaltura player is also just going to entice folks to post their stuff with Kaltura instead of you and they can make money doing it.? MY main concern is that I dont get wiped out by this move to a new iframe player. Thank you for your help.

we've learned in the past certainly to *not* throw out embedding related code so we have no plans to stop supporting flowplayer embedding for a very very long time, if ever. so no fear there!

we won't be *promoting* flowplayer and/or flowplayer embedding at some point, and we *do* think the new player is a much better and more stable over time embedding / offsite usage way to do things.

we plan to keep flowplayer embeds working and already have some techniques in place to ensure we do!

cheers,

Can I continue using my flowplayer embed codes?
I can use the "All Files HTTP" option to get my file locations. Is that what you mean by permalink?
Thanks.

permalinks look like this on our site (starting with http://www.archive.org):

/download/IDENTIFIER/FILENAME
/details/IDENTIFIER
/editxml/IDENTIFIER
/embed/IDENTIFIER
/edit/IDENTIFIER

so you actually want to use the 1st style one and not the "find all files via HTTP" -- because that will change the server name to where the files/item is actually stored -- and that can change over time.

so these are two ways to specify the exact same stored file on our site:
http://www.archive.org/download/etree/lma.jpg
http://ia600202.us.archive.org/17/items/etree/lma.jpg
http://ia700202.us.archive.org/17/items/etree/lma.jpg
(we store all items twice)
only the 1st link should be used -- because one thing is for sure, some years down the road, we *will* move the items around a bit (we just completed in march a 6 month long move of *all* items to from old to new storage for example! http://www.archive.org/web/petabox.php )

Tracey,
thanks for your response but it was not 100% clear to me.
Was your answer Yes, to me being able to continue using my flowplayer with the embedded html, or will I have to use the new player with iframe code?

I did get what you said the the all files html, but will you still be providing that file location info to work with the flowplayer?
Thanks, Bill

I’m going to try out the plugin, but am surprised it’s developed by GoDaddy. I will be looking closely to see if they try to sneak a link back to their site somewhere on the site – hopefully it won’t!
